Keith Wilson - Minister

I’m married to Ann and we have two children. As a family we’ve been part of Lower Earley Baptist Church for over 10 years. I trained at the Scottish Baptist College but love living in Berkshire.

I’m passionate about learning more about Jesus and what it means to be a Christian in a complex and varied world.  In my spare time I like to get out and about. You might see me walking with our lively dog.

I am married to Jeanette and we have one son.

In June 2016 I took an early retirement after working for many years as a specialist Insurance Broker in the Education Sector.  I was responsible for teams producing multi million pound profits and a high level of service to a complex customer base.

For us as a family 2017 was a challenging year in that following an amazing trip to New Zealand I suffered a Heart Attack and then needed major surgery.  This was difficult for us all but our faith was at the centre and God’s love, the care and skill of the medical team and the support of the Church Family all contributed to a good recovery.

Badminton has been part of my life since school and for over ten years I was the Chairman of a Reading League Club.  It has been good to be able to return to playing now my health has improved.

Having purpose is important and I am convinced that my recent health issues and recovery is part of a bigger plan.  I have agreed to become part of the Leadership because I believe that God has something special to achieve through us all at LEBC.

The latter years involved significant international travel and allowed much insight into the design, construction and operation of pharmaceutical facilities.

I am on the leadership team at LEBC and look after the church finances.

In my spare time I am a keen astrophotographer and have a small observatory in my garden.

I have a passion for home fellowship groups which develop closer fellowship, caring and sharing in our Christian lives

Jesus, Family and Chocolate. Three words that sum up what I get excited about!

Having grown up in Reading, my husband and I moved out to America in 2001 and came back 8 years later.  This had a really positive impact on my faith.

When we came back nearly 10 years ago (with a son and a daughter!) we found Lower Earley Baptist Church and have been involved ever since.

I am really passionate about helping children engage with God.  Knowing how difficult being a parent can be, I have also felt led to support Mums in particular and help lead the monthly Mum's groups (HEM night and Chat and Chill).

By day, I work in Early Years at a local primary school and can often be found hunting bugs or making mud pies!

I am married to Vera and we have three adult children – Ngwafu, Langseuh and Niba.

I started my professional life in the first 10 years as a Physics teacher and GCE A/L examiner.

Later on I changed to an IT network engineer and then information security consultant. I have been working as a freelance consultant over the past 18 years with various companies.

I was born into a Christian family and become a Christian at a young age.

I have been a member of LEBC since 2000.  I have been part of the leadership team since 2017.  I have a passion to help others especially those in less privilege positions in society.

I play tennis as a hobby and like to know how people live in other parts of the world.
